Stressful situations are very trying to one’s self-esteem and health. I tend to handle moderate stress well, seeing as it typically motivates me. While extreme amounts of stress can immobilize me at moments, and challenging to my mental health. Stress never gets the best of me though. I may struggle, but working past the obstacles and facing them is what I have found to be the best way to deal with stress. Time management skills are very important to me especially since I have a rigorous and extensive schedule between school work and extracurricular activities. I try to plan ahead to lessen the stress of tasks, and I do work ahead of the schedule when I am capable. Also, the first available time I have to do work is when I sit down and do homework …show more content…
The work at the Indiana Academy will be much more rigorous and challenging than my current high school, and it will take adjustments in order to succeed. My learning skills would also need to quicken in order to absorb and better understand the learning material. I spend my time doing with various clubs and activities that are diverse. The list of activities I am currently involved in are FFA, Junior Leaders through 4-H, 4-H, yearly musical/drama, Advanced Chorus, Student Council, German Club, S.A.D.D., intramural basketball, softball, and golf. When I first arrived I was very overwhelmed with all the information, but quickly became accustomed. I was also worried that the peers I would become friends with eventually would be unpleasant, but I was completely wrong. Everyone I met was extremely amiable and understanding. Once I registered and understood all of the information, I realized that this is what I’ve always wanted. It will be a major adjustment, but it is one I am very willing to make. This step will prepare me for a more successful college life, and help me adapt to a more independent
