Stress is perceived as something negative, sometimes produced by the demand of work or school. Stress is the physical or psychological reaction to a change or challenge in one’s life. There are two types of stress: Eustress and Distress. Eustress is the positive kind of stress, like that connected with getting married or buying a home. Distress is the complete opposite, like filing for divorce or unemployment. A stressful life can contribute to the development of cancer, heart attacks, and strokes.
When an individual is subjected to stress, their immune system is suppressed. It is especially dangerous when the individual already has cancer cells in their system, no matter how many. Their body will not be able to fight off infections or cancer

A stroke is a blockage in the blood supply to the brain. It may sometimes cause numbness on one side of the body or some type of mental loss. When there is a blockage of blood supply to the brain, some parts of the brain may die, and they will never recover. Sometimes the ability to speak, or to walk are lost, and either rehabilitation therapy could help or they could have a permanent loss. Stress exacerbates any disease. Living a stressful life can cause many health risks which, in return, will cause stress on oneself or a family member. Stress can be controlled. Some ways to eliminate some stress from our everyday lives may include joining a yoga club, doing what one loves without fear of being judged, and refusing to say “yes” to every favor asked. Strokes are one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Removing small stressors from one’s everyday routine will be a significant change to a person’s psychological, mental and physical health. Some examples of stressors may be a lack of communication with a partner which can easily be resolved by active listening. Another stressor may be traffic, as being late is definitely a stressor, however, instead of being anxious about the situation, singing could help. Singing can release stress and brighten one’s mood; therefore, the stressor will be minimized, instead of increasing a person’s
