The biggest influence in my life to become a social worker is my mom. My mom has worked for a group of social workers in private practice for about eleven years. Social work has been a part of my life for a very long time and I have always admired the work that the people do at the office where my mother works. My mother and her co-workers have supported my decisions and helped me to choose how to go about my education and career path. My current job, working for the Tazewell County health department as a sight coordinator for the twenty-first century school program, has been a major aspect in supporting the career path that I have chosen. Being a caring person is something that influences me to become a social worker. Knowing that I care about people and wanting to help has been a huge influence. I have always put the feelings of others before mine in order to ensure their happiness.
