Sometimes being challenge can make one come in contact with a strength that they thought they did not have. In the movie, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion was challenged by the wizard to kill the Wicked Witch of the West. During the process of accomplishing this task their inner strengths were revealed. Let’s take the Scarecrow for an example. The Scarecrow did not feel like he was intelligent because he did not posed a brain. However, the Scarecrow showed great thinking and problem solving skills and was very resourceful. When Dorothy was captured and locked inside of the Witches castle, he stood up and took charge. He developed a plan to sneak inside of the castle to rescue Dorothy. They would finally be granted the wishes that they long to have. However when they arrive back to the Wizard, they learn that he is not keeping his promise. That he actually does not have the magical powers to make their wishes come true. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion became very disappointed and begin to feel depressed. Seeing this the Wizard immediately begin to cheer them up. He help show them that they already have the characteristics that they wish to be granted.
