The ww1 had advantages to some sides and as well as some weaknesses. The war had trenches, which was basically these ditches that people sat in for a long long time. People used tear gases, machine guns and grenades and probably even more. Their was a part in the war the very middle called no man's land. So basically if they went between the trenches they would be killed. Many people didn't have advantages like that during this time because they were in the ditches or trenches. But one weapon used that was an advantage was the mortar. The mortar was this kinda big long pipe that basically shot straight up in an arc or an angle and dropped on the enemy.
