I was in special classes that tried helping me out since I was in third grade and I always have felt different from others. In my first year of high school I thought I got out of all my special classes, just to find out they put me in the incorrect classes and put me in the correct, special classes. In high school I was put into a class called Read-180 in which we read books and used a computer program which would help improve our reading and writing. Throughout the class I thought I was not meant to be in the class because I was finishing the computer program 5 times faster than everyone else. However, I was not doing well on the skill testing they had us do every other month. I was then placed into Read-180 throughout my sophomore and junior year. It was during my junior year when I had to take a shuttle bus to my old school I realized that I had to try my hardest to overcome my learning disability. I achieved my goal at the end of the year and tested out of the class. Finally, during my last year in high school I still was in a special English class and I tried my hardest to do my best and go to college. I never had the opportunity to dream about going to a university, I always thought that my learning disability was holding me back for going to college, but I gave a junior college a try and throughout my two years at Joliet Junior College I was in normal/above average classes and I felt like I could always accomplish my goals if I try to best I can. All in all, throughout my education I have learned that your educational goals are important and without any effort, you will never achieve your educational goals and my new educational goals today are to receive my Bachelor’s Degree at a State
