In “Why the NHL Needs Fighting,” Brandon Keim (2012) states that fighting is a crucial element of hockey. Since the argument claimed by the author is located in the second paragraph and the reasons are situated after the argument, the article presents a deductive organization. The three reasons provided by the author to support his thesis statement are: Physical punishment applied by the own players is an effective measure to restrain condemnable behaviour during the match; Hockey is an aggressive game by nature; Brawling solves problems that laws or administrative measures cannot deal with. The first reason claimed by the writer is supported by his assumption that “[if] conducted honorably,” (para. 5 & 15) fights are not only right, but also necessary to the dynamic of the match, since the players have a kind of moral code established among themselves that says, “if…

For a long time high schools have had sports teams and art programs and they started out with equal funding but over the years sports teams started receiving more funding while the arts clubs received less. Why do they give more funding to the sports teams, it might be that if you walk into a classroom there will likely be a lot of students talking about sports or athletes and only a few who are talking about a musical or art festival so, the school board might think that only a few students like the arts programs and everyone else like sports but, that's not true. There is a lot of pressure for boys to join the sports team because their father of brother want them to be just like them, so most boys will join the team and not actively participate so they are just wasting the schools money when it could be going to the art programs.…

With this we can go more in depth and follow the specificities of the dependency; were they dependent economically? Technologically? Questions must then be posed to help find the evidence to support the sub-arguments in the thesis; how was the war a reflection of the growing “importance” of violence in hockey? What else was happening during that time, that might affect its importance ?…
