My organization aspires to provide a constructive teaching and learning atmosphere that offers quality and pertinent academic programs to its students so that they may succeed professionally. Following considerable discussion and deliberation, the committee charged to plan its strategic planning voted to adopt the following vision statement:
“Strayer University will become the premier nationwide institution of higher education for working adults.”
I find this vision inspirational because I believe all ambitious and qualified adults have a right to higher education. Unfreezing
There was no formal process to create and manage academic integrity violations. Before the deviation from such norm, each campus managed their database and instructors were hesitant to report violations as they deemed a violation in their respective course was the first offense committed by the student. A request was made to centralize the data collection and encourage each instructor to make a report. The new structure allowed faculty and staff access to a students record which helped them apply appropriate sanctions. Failure to report such violations could lead up to termination.
Changing
Developed and Implemented a Change Control Process. The purpose of this process was three-fold:
1. Instructors must make a final decision on violations/ sanctions before reporting the student to our office
2. Provide a way to track all violations and ensure we have that data readily available to management
3. Provide faster resolutions/response to instructors who need our advice on suspected
