With AUM’s strategic plan causing a ripple effect of how to increase students the barriers for student obtainment is moderate with other universities. As a matter of fact, due to ACT and SAT scores a large number of students are trying to find their place in the secondary education path but with a big turndown. AUM and Faulkner both have the same score requirement of 18, which is lower than a typical four-year university (AUM & Faulkner). Whereas Auburn and Alabama, hold their scores at a high 24-30 (Auburn & Alabama). With most of the previously stated facts being within this realm, there are a few that pertain to just this. To further emphasize on the online degree topic, since AUM only has a select few online degrees it brings to light the rest of the capabilities that other universities and colleges are taking advantage of. Faulkner for example has degrees online ranging from Associates in Liberal Arts to Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities (Faulkner). AUM only has the twenty-six in Bachelors causing them to fall short on enrollment outside this realm. Another big thing today is certifications and in-house training. Most companies today are hiring individuals that have bachelor degrees or higher, but are not using those as presence for hiring. They are obtaining the individual based on the fact of them being able to learn and training them using their own methodologies and techniques. Per certain websites, in-house training can be taught for financial all the way to customer service training (Home). This gives companies home advantage to train the employees on what they need for the company’s particular needs. This type of service takes away from AUM’s overall education platform and reduces the student
