When it comes to the social problem of suicide in adolescents, this issue is a problem that has been on an increase in America years. Suicide in our younger generations is something that everyone never wants to hear, but before it happens is never brought up. This is such a huge problem because these suicides are occurring from many issues within the communities that most of the time directly relate to deviant behaviors such as drug use, alcohol abuse, bullying, and depression. This has been a problem that has increased over the decades and I feel that it has a direct correlation between deviant behavior increasing at a dramatic rate. This theory explains that people want to be successful and society also puts pressure on people to do so. When they are not successful in acceptable things and when they are not successful it causes them to act in deviant ways. If a theorist was to explain this theory he would say that when people are unable to achieve something that I worth while in something that is of importance to them, it can cause behavior and actions that would not normally be something that they consider. The source of this theory is the high expectations that are put among adolescents to be successful in what they do. When they are unable to achieve these things, they feel as if they are a failure and will not be able to amount to anything that they do the rest of their life. This leads to the adolescents acting in ways that they normally wouldn’t which a lot of the time is deviant behavior. If a theorist would explain the best solution to this problem, he would say that we need to have better support systems for these younger kids for when they end up unsuccessful. If these kids have a better supporting cast in almost every aspect of what they do, when they fail they will not feel as if they are a failure and allow them to have a higher self esteem and not feel the need to act in deviant ways. The main reason why I feel that this is not the best theory for suicide in adolescent, the reason why I see it this way is because of the amount of support that already goes towards helping with the strain theory. People have become aware over the years that teens feel pressure in almost every aspect of their life and it can make them feel as if the weight of the world is on their shoulders. We have educated parents that they need to start telling their children that they are doing good and working hard. Another reason that goes into why I do not think that this is the biggest theory, is because of the amount of suicides that relate
