The Story of Ruth

Ruth story was written by an unknown author in speculation that the date was 1100 B.C.

During the time of judges rule in Israel, a great famine came upon the land. Naomi and her sons was take by her husband Elimelech to Moab from Bethlehem. Naomi’s sons took two Moab brides by the name of Orpah and Ruth. Elimelech dies and soon his two sons follow in death.

Naomi advised her two daughter in laws to return home. Naomi knew how important it was for two young women to have a husband and children of their own. Naomi planned to walk back to Bethlehem in hopes of a relative to take her in. Orpah agrees but Ruth refuses. Ruth insist to be with Naomi.

Boaz sleeping near the pile of grain. Ruth secretly join him. She glides over to him and slips under the covers at his feet. Boaz await to see Ruth at his feet.

Boaz hope God would protect Ruth under his wings and allow it in court. He explain to her there is another close in kin. That man will have the first opportunity. In front of ten witnesses. Boaz make the offer to other close in kin Boaz being wise includes details which lead to a wise attack. The other man agree to take Naomi’s land but when finding out Ruth is Moabite in child bearing age he refused. Boaz gets the land, Ruth and Naomi. As it was planned Boaz shared his prayer shawl to cover Ruth as a symbol of protection. Even in this age some grooms still share their prayer shawl during their wedding. Ruth gave birth to a son name, Obed. Obed later become the father of Jesse and grandfather of David. They all makeup the family tress of our Lord Jesus Christ.
