“Holly shit that was so scary!” yelled Amy Rodriguez a senior at the University at Buffalo, as she walked out of the cover duck tape doors with fogged up glasses. Rodriguez had just completed a maze of flashing white lights and loud screaming. A 10-minute maze that starts with the announcement of your entrance and who you will complete it with. While being shocked by the jumping bloody hungry characters, that creepy through the corners of the walls as you walk pass them.
On October 29 in the Student Union at the University at Buffalo, the Student Association and the office of Health and Wellness, join together to throw a Halloween Carnival and Haunted Union. The student union was covered in orange and purple decorations with balloons and Frankenstein blow up’s. A table full of blank cookies ready to be decorated and eaten as dessert after the main meal, pizza. Although, the decoration made it welcoming the music did not seem to set the tone, “the music sounds like the background music to a zombie movie” stated Jennifer Fontana, a junior at the University at Buffalo who was walking pass the union dress as Harley Quinn chasing her Joker.

In 2010, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, gave this grant for alcohol harm reduction programing with athletes and the campus community. Some of the money was used for athletes programing and the rest was used to create an alcohol free Halloween event. “The grant ended in 2013, so we have kept the event but Wellness pays for it now,” stated Maria McBride the assistant director of the Wellness Education Services and the person in charge of the Halloween
