Although, I did not particularly like all the books I read, it was a good thing because it was letting me be exposed to different types or writing. Through the years there have been a few books that I have enjoyed. More than likely if I liked the book it was probably a fiction story, because those are the stories that grab my attention the most. That was until I read “The Last Lecture” which was a fantastic book about man who had cancer and had to present his last lecture to a group of college students. I really enjoyed this book especially because Randy Pausch (the author) wrote the book the same way that I write. He was also a very funny writer. The essays would be about just about anything. They could be free writing where I could write about anything or it could be a nonfiction topic. If I had the choice to free write about anything, my go to writing would be a fictional, funny story about talking animals. I could not give you a good reason to why I only write those stories, other than, I love it! I love writing silly stories that do not really have a point to them. In seventh grade we had to write an essay about Martin Luther King Jr. for a contest. The essay had to be a standard five paragraph paper and right then I was struggling to think about enough information I could write about him. I never have been good at writing because I write short, simple sentences which are good sometimes, however not always good when you have to write a certain amount. I am not the kind of person who can write long, detailed sentences full of fluff. So, I do struggle with writing. On the other hand, if you give me an interesting topic or let me write about anything, I could probably write nonstop with plenty of stuff to say. Long story short, it’s not that I can’t write, it’s that I do not really write as well as I am capable
