She asked, “Savannah, will you be able to babysit Andrew and Paislee tomorrow night at 7?” “I sure can Mrs. Anderson, I’ll see y’all at 7.” As soon as I hung up the phone, something the news caster said caught my attention. As I walked down stairs, I began to wonder what went just happened. I came to the conclusion that I fell asleep during the movie and dreamt the entire things. I was in denial of everything that happened. I entered the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee, believing that it would prevent me from dreaming like that again. With the cup of coffee in my hand, I began to make my way to the couch. When I left the kitchen, I looked out the french doors to determine if the storm was over. There stood the man holding a child. He had a reputation for kidnaps throughout the county. Everything became real at that moment. There was a kidnapper staring me in the eye holding baby Paislee. But how? I saw her laying in bed a few minutes ago. How was all of this

In Patricia J. Williams article, “Are We Worried About Storm’s Identity – Or Our Own?”, William article sends a reflection feeling towards the audience and how they need to think about the whole stereotype problem differently and positively instead of negatively. Moreover, in this article you can see how William put her voice in this and her point across which is we should focus on ourselves and what we do instead of worrying about someone else’s life. In the novel Been In the Storm So Long: The Aftermath of Slavery, Leon F Litwack describes the aftermath of slavery post-Civil War.
