Storm Descriptive Writing

Thud! I closed the tailgate of my dad’s truck. I turned around with my bow in hand. The quiver that is attached to the bow has three new arrows in it. I grabbed the middle arrow and knock it for my walk out. My path is a narrow strip of mowed grass between a dense wooded area and a corn field. After blowing my nose and clearing my throat as much as I possibly could, hopefully so I do not need to do any of those things on stand, I started on my way. It was a short walk probably half a mile or less, but it always seemed to take forever on the way out there. Once I started my walk; my whole body seemed to go into survival mode. All of my senses became more keen. My steps became quieter and faster. My hearing seemed to have doubled. It seemed as if my sight became better than normal. I noticed every noise, noticed any movement. After the first fifty yards or so I reached the headlands of the field. The cornstalks were trampled and bent. Cobs were scattered throughout my path. The tall tunnel of corn turned into an open meadow with grasses as tall as I am. It was like a city. Constantly full of activity. Small birds would fly around and eat the grass seeds. With every step I took at least ten birds would flutter up, making it sound like an animal was running from me. The grass was so high and thick that a deer could have been bedded down five feet away and I never would have even known. Up ahead I could see the hole in the tree line where I have to enter the woods and get to my stand. The opening looks the start of a cave. When I made it to the woods I entered into the woods.
