While most of us may think that they should be enraged and cooperative to find and end, that has not been the case. It should come as no surprise that the administration has instead, attempted to rebuke the scandal altogether. Scandal? What scandal? They have even pushed the blame onto congressional policies. At this time, there has not been any proof showing that the administration is directly involved in the IRS scandal. However, it begs one to wonder the true reason behind it to begin with.
Let’s think about that for a moment. Conservative groups were primarily targeted during a period that ran up to the 2012 election year. The election year came and the left won the votes. Had the conservative groups not been targeted by the IRS, would that have changed the election in any way? Maybe, but we may never know.
One thing, however, is certain. Conservative groups were unjustly targeted during that period. This much we do

One of the frightening aspects about this whole situation is that it even happened to begin with. The IRS is supposed to be a politically neutral tool of the government. However, bias is everywhere these days. Imagine the power behind these kinds of actions if they were simply allowed. What if this kind of behavior were legally permitted? Our freedoms would then be potentially eradicated based on our personal beliefs and views. We could all be forced with the decision to accept and follow, or stand and be scrutinized, penalized, and discriminated against.
Thankfully, we still have the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights on our side to prevent this. However, if we are not diligent in standing up for and maintaining these rights as established by our forefathers, who knows where we would find ourselves. Let us stand for our country and our freedoms, and pray it never comes to that. The world is changing, and it doesn’t seem to be changing for the better. We must defend our rights, or lose them

Olivia Plunkett Mr. Reader Impeachment 27 April 2015 After the Watergate scandal, former President Nixon was brought up on impeachment charges due to his involvement in the scandal. Many citizens called for the removal of Nixon from office, and he was brought up on impeachment charges, but resigned before there were any trials. According to the Constitution, a president “shall be removed from office for, and on conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Under these terms, I believe that the accusations against President Nixon were impeachable crimes due to not having the interest of the citizens in full mind.…

Speak the words presidential scandal, and what goes through a person’s mind is Watergate. This scandal set a precedent for all other scandals. In the early 1970’s there was a break in at the Democratic National Committee Headquarters, which came to be known as the Watergate break-ins. Upon Investigation It was found that top white house officials, the CIA, FBI and even the president at the time Richard Nixon was involved in trying to cover it up. This led to Richard Nixon resigning which in my opinion was to save face from the impeachment that was coming his way. In the upcoming paragraphs I will be summarizing and examining two different articles on the Watergate crisis, where both authors have totally different views on the events in which happened. I will also discuss how this has changed America’s views on politics as well as how things may be different had this unfolded in this time with social media being the way it is.…

Still yet, there were loose ends regarding what the scandal was all about. The accused were taking blame for something they knew nothing about. As time went by and the reporters got access to more evidence, the scary truth was revealed. The informative reports confirmed that the president and the White House were personally involved in the plot.…

However, as it currently stands, in many cases, those would-be tax dollars are being directly deposited into the pockets of greedy, corrupt clergymen that care less about what is in your heart and more about what is in your wallet. Bear in mind that the Church of Scientology brings in $500-550 million every year, according to an article by L. Christopher Smith for Entrepreneur. This church earns more in a year than most people will see in their entire lifetime, and yet none of it goes to the IRS; it remains in the money-grubbing hands of the church’s leaders. The Church of Scientology is not a unique case; the same truth applies to numerous other large religious organizations, making the story of the single mother and the pastor a largely truthful…

The word also represents the political scandal that brought down Richard Nixon's presidency and caused him to resign. For every dollar in taxes a religious organization does not pay, you and I are paying for it. Churches have been tax-exempt since the start of our country. Our government and society are founded on the freedom to choose, freedom of faith and religion, but we all share the tax burden of religion, even if we choose not to practice it. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution clearly states churches are separate from the government. The First Amendment also states the freedom to express religion, but it is not free if we are all paying for it through taxation.…
