Romeo tries to stop the second conflict between Tybalt and Mercutio “Draw, Benvolio beat down their weapons, for shame, forbear this outrage! Tybalt Mercutio, the prince expressly hath forbidden bandying in Verona streets” (Romeo steps between them both) In this scenario Romeo is portrayed as a good character because he has the almighty courage to step in between Tybalt and Mercutio.
