Stop Starvation In America

Around 21,000 people die of starvation each day. That’s one person every 3.6 seconds. According to www.mercycorps.com one in every eight people goes to bed hungry. In mostly Asia, India, Africa, and China people suffer most from starvation. Most residents in America are used to having three meals a day. We are used to fast food, our food being delivered to us as quick as possible, and supermarkets where the food is there ready to pay for and eat. They have to grow their own food and use most of it to pay for next year’s crop. We should not let anyone starve. We should do all we can to stop famine. How can we say that when entire communities are dying of starvation? If it’s the land of plenty then why do people have none? In Asia and Africa many farmers are poor. They have that one job that does not give them the pay they need to survive. Some of their food is eaten ,but the rest is sold to earn money to live on ,and to plant more crops the next year. Children are underweight and unhealthy from lack of food. The death rates ,of children, are rising in so many places.This is from the little amounts of food and water people there have. They live on mostly one tiny meal a day. With a drink of dirty river, puddle, or lake water. Because some are so desperate to receive water will do anything to get it. Communities are struggling to live off of what they have, they are dying because of it. In America most of the people are used to having amazing food all day every day. We snack on treats that people elsewhere think it would be a miracle to have. Countless Americans go out to eat on a regular basis. On average, Americans waste 2.6 billion pounds of food a year! We might just lose our gigantic appetite from hearing about communities that are dying from no food. We should do all we can to stop
