Stop Infantilizing Students Analysis

In his article, “Stop Infantilizing Students,” Wiltold Zombrowski says that parents and teachers should stop treating students as they are infants. In order to encourage students to actually attend classes teachers should stop posting class lessons online. Teacher should also avoid sending out reminders, to teach our students how to become more responsible. Zombrowski’s position is unreasonable and should be opposed. Three reasons why parents and teachers stopping to help out students is a bad idea include the ideas that posting the class lessons online is beneficial in giving students a resources to look at while not in the class room, having in class assignments gives the teacher a chance to know if his or her students actually understand what’s being taught, and if teachers continue to post reminders online about assignments it will ensure students can plan their time more beneficial knowing what is more urgent.

Without having the ability to take the assignment home and have access to other resources, in class assignments put the students on the spot and helps show if they really understand the concepts being taught. The in class assignments can also be beneficial to the teacher, letting him or her know if the students actually understand what’s being taught and what needs to be worked out.
