Stonehenge is the worlds’ most famous prehistoric monument. In 2004, Peter Marlow captured the prominent structure engulfed by the gloomy skies titled G.B England. Stonehenge. These enormous stones have stood high on the Salisbury Plains of Wilshire, England for over 5,000 years steeped in mystery and folklore. It’s true purpose, no one knows. Stonehenge’s weathered ruins are wrapped in ancient history and has many conspiracy theories looming in its ominous, dull skies.

It is believed Stonehenge has some sort of mystical energy surrounding the stones and I think he wanted to focus your attention on the unknown. Drawing your eyes towards the grey abyss above the Stonehenge monument would lead any curious thinker to consider the many conspiracy theories to have been hypothesized. The mystery this photo

Some stones stand vertically with slabs relatively the same size laying horizontally across the top. Therefore, creating one set. There are multiple sets that appear to be positioned in the shape of a circle. As you analyze the colossal stonework, you come to notice the deep cracks and chips within the weathered monument and some of the fallen bedrock that has collapsed down to earth. Shadows are casted on to the stones in the background of the photograph emitting an old, antique vibe. Being exposed to mother natures’ harsh conditions for thousands of years, Stonehenge wears its battle wounds proudly as it stands on the bare plains of Salisbury to this day. There is also a vast amount of research that has been done to try to uncover its creators and its purpose, which I found to be very helpful.…

The monument I would create is in Boston, Massachusetts, which is a historically rich city, but I would create a monument to one specific event named the Boston Massacre. This is a significant event in the history of United States, where British troops murdered some Americans after they formed a mob. This partly led up to the Revolutionary War where America fought Britain. This monument would be made of dolomitic marble. It would contain a 20 x 20 replication of Paul Revere’s engraving of the Boston Massacre, and under it an inscription explaining the Boston Massacre.…

Since the application of astronomy in their religion was so popular, it is credible to predict the purpose of Stonehenge having some association with astronomy. Provided each of the prehistoric monuments are henges, historians (Archaeoastronomy at Stonehenge 2016) suggest that the constructors may have been similar to that of Stonehenge. As the constructors also used alike formats, we can assume that the continuous frequency of the similar placement of stones suggests a want to replicate some particular site. As the…
