StoneGate is a senior home living company which provide a range of support services in all areas of senior housing and long-term care such as restaurants, nursing and other maintenance services. However, StoneGate had been struggling with a big problem about overtime pay and expenses with 29 senior care facilities. As needed to support operation, the company had to spend a vast amount of money on Overtime pay, and there was no single software or system to monitor the exact amount spent each cycle, the company were not able to track overtime and adjust the schedule.
For the purpose to solve the failure of overtime management, in 2009, StoneGate decided to implement Business Intelligence to salvage this situation with Pentaho, a company that offers Business Intelligence and Business Analytics platform. What’s more, StoneGate also benefited from Accelerated accounts payable, Reduced manual data entry and other processes. For example, by investing Pentaho BI/BA platform, StoneGate had the automated expense data collection that is more efficient, rather than manual data entry, it lead to a saving of $9,720 per year. Also by reducing manual work, StoneGate was able to reallocate two employees to other tasks who previously were in charge of medical billing and salary tracking, and it resulted in an annual benefit of $91,250.
