I have heard of Greyston Bakery social responsibility from my other business class. What has caught my attention is how their social mission is a bit different from other companies’ mission. Founded in 1982 in Yonkers, Greyston Bakery produces quality baked goods, brownie mix-ins for Ben & Jerry’s® Ice Cream, along with other premium desserts. As the Greyston’s tag line goes “We don’t hire people to bake brownies. We bake brownies to hire people”.…

As Chief Operating Officer, I would entertain the idea of opening a third brewery, this would stick with the theme of maintaining its strategic focus and growing the company. Before starting this venture, first I would list the positives and negatives next to each other and then make an informative decision. When considering the expansion of a business there are many things to think about before making any decisions. Key items on my list of pros would include: shorter travel distances for distributing the product, decrease in fossil fuels, increase of jobs, expansion of the company’s capacity, increase in annual sales, and decreased competition. Key items on my list of cons would include: increase in challenges to remain on a human scale and…

In the end, the ideal amount of water to Alka-Seltzer was 4 ML to ⅓ a tablet. When we used less water (Independant Variable) it gave the canister more space for the pressure to build up, resulting in longer flight (Dependent Variable). This goes for when I tried to launch a canister with 35 ML of water and ¼ a tablet of Alka-Seltzer. The canister was ¾ filled which wasn’t enough space and so it failed to launch. When I tried to put higher amounts of water, the canister would leak.…

A corporation funding a candidate would inevitably lead to quid pro quo. Even if it doesn’t, that company would have it’s own interests in mind, and would try to get a candidate elected if they promise things beneficial to the profits of the company. I can’t say that I agree with the court’s ruling, although I do understand why it was made. The First Amendment clearly supports the right to free speech and freedom of press. Throughout many years, corporations have gained personhood, meaning that many of the rights given to people in the First Amendment also apply to corporations.…

They are capable of doing so because of the position that GMCR is in as an emerging and growing brand/company. If they build up sales for the Keruig other rival roasters would receive a free ride from GMRC marketing investment and adopt the product and be able to gain revenue from the product. When heat is applied to an object, that object usually undergoes a structural change. This also applies to rock. Since Knife River Flint is a fine-grained stone the changes predictably would be minor, compared to a coarse-gained stone that would exhibit greater change when it came to thermal altering. Ahler purposed “that fine-grained cherts respond to heat alteration at lower temperatures than do coarse-grained cherts” (Ahler 1983: 2) which Knife River Flint is a fine-grained chert, so it should respond favorably to thermal alteration. Thermally altering Knife River Flint is conducive when it comes to making knapping easier for the knapper “The increased ease of flake fracture significantly enhances the knapper's control over the material.…
