Stock are important parts of companies and corporations, plain and simple stock is shared ownership of a company. As an individual acquires more stock, their ownership in a company becomes greater. The stock market also plays an important role in the growth of the industry and commerce of a company. Stock is important in both the industry and investors point of view. The stock market plays vital roles in economy, which is why stocks are so important, when they are in an individual's favor. Stock is for investment, but needs to be in control as well.
One of the first stocks my team invested in was Southwest Airlines. It is a part of the United States Airline industry. Southwest Airlines has hit the news many times, but the one that most stuck out to me was a news story about Southwest Airlines honoring military employees. The news report talks about how Southwest Airlines wants to do anything to give back to those who served our country. They also offer provide employment to military workers who want to get back into the workforce. One news report I found was Microsoft wanting to join with a company called LinkedIn to avoid acquisition busts and learn from their previous mistakes. I was interested in this stock because it is such a big corporation that I thought would bring in a lot of money. The purchasing price of the stock was $58.49 and it considered common stock. We purchased so much of this stock because it is a thriving corporation that could gain us a lot of money. We sold off some of the shares in hopes it would gain us money.
