Stitching Research Paper

Improved Essays
A baseball is a very detailed ball that is made precisely with care. A baseball has exactly 108 stitches on it shaped in a specific pattern to help the ball fly. Although, it can make it fly in very different directions depending on how you use them. All the pitches and more that were listed all depend on the stitching of the ball to direct it in the way it should go. As air travels on and around the stitches it pushes the ball in the direction that the air has strong push on. This is how a curveball is thrown because when the ball is released in such a manner that the stitches cause a change in airflow in the middle of flight making the ball curve like it is supposed to do. They can have such an effect that a pitcher can pitch a 85 mph fastball

Baseball is the Nation's pastime sport, it was invented in Cooperstown, New York, during the summer of 1839. He also abolished the dangerous practice of tagging runners by throwing balls at them.…

Baseball is a strong game and involves a few easy things to play. The most important thing to use when playing the game of baseball is a bat. There are so many bats out there; small barrels, big barrels, even a few of everything on the bat is a barrel, but a few of my favorite bats and the more probably used bats throughout baseball is the Demarini vs. Marucci. These two bats are very well used and that's because they are the best bats put together. Let's start with Demarini.…

As I passed through downtown Atlanta, I couldn't help admire the home of the Braves, not just because it was an architectural wonder but because it brought back to mind that very first lesson when Professor Van Huevelen sparked my curiosity when he said we find that there are some things in this world that are repeatable. Repeatable. Repeatable. So a baseball pitcher, if he throws a ball with the same speed and in the same direction, spinning the ball the same, it'll end up going about the same place.…
