The video consists of the two artists in a room by themselves signing in a dialogue. By signing within a dark room the two artists establish pathos in contrast to the original version, leaving no distractions for the viewer and allowing the focal point of the video to be the lyrics. The song is sung in a slow pace compared to the original fast paced version. The singers establish credibility due to the slow pace because the lyrics are more decipherable. With no distractions and a slower conventional pace the viewer can understand the situation that Mendes is associated with.
