The performance enhancing drug I chose to research were stimulants. Stimulants can be categorized as psychoactive drugs. Stimulants basically provide a temporary improvements in one’s mental or physical actions. There are numerous drugs that are considered to be stimulants. A few of them are fencamfamin, adrenaline, heptaminol, and sibutramine. Stimulants can be taken many ways including orally, inhalation, intranasal, or injected directly into the muscle. Stimulants typically work by increasing the dopamine levels in one’s brain.
When it comes to stimulants, there are benefits that are specifically towards athletes. These benefits include but are not limited to, increasing ones level of alertness, allowing someone to lose weight, increasing ones response level, and also reducing ones amount of tiredness. On the other hand, stimulants are also used to actually treat the symptoms of many medical issues. These issues do include allergies, headaches, colds, asthma, and ADHD.

These days, there are many people who try drugs to basically feel the effects of the drug and possibly get a short term good feeling. These stimulants tend to provide the person who is taking it with what is called a euphoria feeling. A stimulant that is most commonly know is cocaine. The stimulant cocaine provides one with a short period of extreme happiness. Cocaine is actually one of the world’s most commonly abused stimulant. When it comes to the possession of this stimulant, one can face a hefty amount of jail time and other consequences. When it comes to sports and stimulants, many different sports have policies that if violated, one will face consequences and possibly removal from teams. The media typically portrays stimulants through videos, articles, photos, and do not generally list the horrible side effects that do come with using these
