Events, such as the Holocaust, shaped the world to be what is it today. In that respect, it is no worse than the prohibition tax or other lessons learned from history. . Learning is part of our human nature and there is no way to stop that especially with the current news outlets available today 24/7..

The way we are willing to focus on this one event in history, and not on any current event shocks me. Now, we all know that the Holocaust is of course, a very dark matter, but so are current events. But, these topics will be freely available for kids, while we still talk about teaching this one subject. As a society, we need to stop pin pointing specific things and just take a step back to look at the big picture.

The Crusades, World War I, the Great Depression, the list goes on and on, while we all just sit here in our own little world being completely ignorant of the other issues we will face when teaching anything like this.
I realize that this issue is pressing, but we all need to look past the horrific side of things and still teach kids about its significance. we also need to make sure, by the lessons learned, that it will never happen again. Let me ask you a question. You learned about the Holocaust, right? And you are just fine, right? So, how will keeping these teachings have a negative impact? Isn’t intelligent discussion and even debate good?

To be blunt, ignoring what made the world what it is, is just ignorant and flat out wrong.
