Stevie was blind his entire life. The young super star was born May 13,1950, in Saginaw, Michigan. By the age of 13 he began to sing to his hearts content. He attended Detroit, Public Schools. Growing up was hard for Stevie. His blindness made it extremely difficult to learn. He pushed through all of the darkness by playing the harmonica and singing. Stevie also plays the drums and the piano. By the age of 21, the world knew him as a musical genius. One positive side for Stevie’s blindness is that he trained himself to use sonar. Stevie has amazing talent to be able to play the drums efficiently and be blind on top of that. Stevie got most of his inspiration from a band called the Drifters. Stevie’s first wife,Syreeta Write, who was also a singer and songwriter. Stevie Wonder also has 8 kids, Ashia Morris, Keita Morris, and Sophia Morris to name a few.([google.com]) One interesting time in his life is when he was congratulated by Bill Clinton for receiving a lifetime achievement award, in 1999. Stevie does great things for the community. For example, he was one of the actors in the play “We Are The World” to benefit starving in Ethiopia.
