Did you know that Stevie Wonder is just a stage name? His birth name is Stevland Hadaway Judkins, son of Calvin Judkins and Lula Mae Hardaway. After Stevie’s mother had left his father, Lula changed her name to Lula Hardaway and changing Stevie name to Stevland Morris. After becoming famous at a young age, people started calling him “ A Little wonder,” soon getting the nickname Stevie Wonder.(CITE) Stevie Wonder has won many awards in musical areas such as pop, soul, and jazz. Throughout Stevie Wonder’s path of success, he has collaborated with many celebrities who have helped Stevie grow in his musical career. To illustrate, When Stevie Wonder was on stage for the “The Grammys' Songs in the Key of Life –An All-Star Salute to Stevie Wonder,” Stevie Wonder stated “We've got to have fewer people be silent and do something by their actions, by how they vote. I just think that we're in a time when we have to put some action behind that mouthpiece that we have."(Cite) Stevie Wonder tells his audience to not be silence and to take action against those who want harm for others. Further, he tells his audience to send their support to those who are in loss and pain, to try and help them in their time of grief. Also, when Stevie Wonder was at London’s Hyde Park for the British Summertime Festival, Stevie Wonder told his audience “I encourage you to choose love over hate. It's just that simple. Choose love over hate, right over wrong, kind over meanness. Hope over no hope at all”.(Cite) Plain and straightforward, Stevie Wonder tells his audience to try and do the right thing once in awhile and that no matter the hardship there will always be a glimpse of hope. Stevie Wonder tries to make people believe that there can be a future, where people do not discriminate each other because of color. The world where love overruns hate, where everyone treats the person next to them with respect. Stevie Wonder wants to live in the type of world he portrays in his messages, and all of his efforts are paying
