Steve Randall Narrative

Boy, that essay sure took me awhile to write. It was so worth it though. It was nice to write again. Doing so took my mind off of the incident. It has now been three months since I wrote that essay. Those past three months have been better than usual. The gang has changed as well. Like me for example. Im not afraid of those dang Socs anymore. Those times are way long gone. My grades have gotten better as well. I’ve also gotten in better shape, and I was thinking about trying out for the schools track team next year. Darry is still old Darry, except now he doesn't take things as serious as he used to. He’s still the boss of everyone and he still makes sure that my chores are all done, as well as my homework. He’s still into roofing …show more content…
That wasn't all he cared about, but he was still pretty ticked. Two-Bit still robs stores for fun and gets drunk every other day. Thats not really a problem though. I guess when you’ve known someone for so long it just seems like a routine more than a horrible addiction. I know for a fact that he’s saving up for a new switchblade, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he stole one either. Steve Randall is still best friends with my brother, Sodapop. Funny story, the other day me and Soda were throwing rocks at each other when I dodged one of them and it hit Steve’s car. He just got it waxed too. If it wasn't for Soda, Steve would've beaten the living tar out of me. I’m sure glad we are on better terms, he still hates me, but we’re on better terms than we used to be. Cherry Valance. I haven't seen in a long time, so I don't know what she’s been up to. I’ve seen her around while she was hanging out with Marcia. They act like I don't exist. It used to bother me a lot, but then I got more and more used to it. One question always remained in my mind. Cherry, when and why did you turn into such a …show more content…
“I’ll tell you about it later.”

Then the nurse walked in. “Pony, you have some visitors.”

I looked at the door entrance and there they were. Steve, Johnny, Dally, and Two-Bit.

“Hey, Pony!” Two-Bit said in excitement.

“Glad to be awake?” Steve asked, leaning against the hospital bed.

“Sure am,” I responded.

Johnny walked up and spoke in his usual shy tone. “Hey Pony, how have you been?”

I stared at him for a bit because I was shocked that he was standing here in the first place. “Oh-um I’m doing great.”

He cracked a half smile, then walked back towards the door. Dally just looked at me and nodded with an awkward smile. After a minute of catching up, the nurse told them they had to leave. After many objections, they left. Dally was the last one out. Before he closed the door he looked back at me and said “Good to have you back, kid.”

“I’m glad to be back,” I responded.

He smiled then closed the door, but then re-opened it and popped his head through. “Do I die in all of your dreams?”

I laughed. “Well, that was the only dream of mine that you’ve been

In the article “A Suicide at Twelve: ‘Why, Steve?” of Richard E. Meyer, the author narrates a whole life of a young boy whose name is Steve Dailey. Through the article, we could see the whole life of Steve from the day he was born to the day he chose a rope and bough to end his life although nobody, who lived around him, understood the reason why he had to kill himself. Therefore, the author still keeps a question “Why, Steve?” for the article. “Steve Dailey was born on July 30, 1961, in the Cincinnati suburb of Clifton.”…

When I first read the title of the article, I was not completely sure of the topic of the essay. However, once I found out that the essay was on the girl perspective and contributions in gangs, I believed that the essay was very important. Many times people assume that women are not involved in gangs, but this is not the case and they are highly unrepresented. I found the essay interesting, because I have never really heard a female gang prospective. Most of the artifiacts and tradiations were not uncommon to me.…

Small Moment Narrative By: Simona McDonald It had been a grey, gloomy September day from the moment the sun chose to rise. A faint wind flowed through our hair while a slight drizzle sprinkled down upon us. The lake’s chilly, dark green water came crashing down onto the beige concrete in heavy waves as we strolled along beside the water, taking in the breath-taking scenery. There had been a faint mist acting as a blanket covering the city of Chicago.…
