Steve Jobs Speech Rhetorical Analysis

Arguments usually use a fact to support a claim. Steve Jobs uses his opinion and supports it with history. This is also called “ethos or pathos”. Which creates more personal information for himself that makes more interest in his audience. This often makes people look at him as a role model. I believe that when he shared his hardships, his audience got more familiar with him. I agree when Steve Jobs says that “time is precious”, because your time can end whenever. He explains into depth about how his cancer affected him which brought more attention to him, because many people can relate. He made it simple on himself by separating his speech into 3 sections. Hoping that his audience can lock in and follow 3 stories that all connect to make his life story short and interesting.

You’re not always going to like everything you have to do, but at the same time that’s life for you. Part of growing is being able to do the things that you don’t necessarily like. Things worked out in Steve’s case, but the likelihood of that happening is very slim. In order to achieve your goals you have to learn what works and what doesn’t. And most of the time you fail before you succeed. Everything is a learning experience, At times, the failures can be more valuable than the successes.
