Steve Jobs’ commencement speech at Stanford University on June 2005 is one of the most inspirational speeches I have ever listened to. The first time I listened to this speech was in the 7th grade, and it is the one speech I can remember by heart. In short, he was saying, don’t try to connect dots in the future which you are not a part of, but instead, connect the dots in the past, which you have been a part …show more content…
The speech had a theme that resonated with anyone looking for meaning in their careers and lives. In just fifteen minutes, Jobs convinced me to do what I love. “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work...Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it,” Jobs said. With his last few words, Steve Jobs ended his speech by adding, “Stay hungry. Stay foolish,” and now those words are on of my favorite

He wanted to comfort the nation because we were all affected by the tragedy of September 11th. He knew that we were confused about who did this and why anyone would ever do this. He comforted us by saying that the world was with us, supporting us and that we would never forget our nation’s national anthem playing at places such as Buckingham Palace, the streets of Paris and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate.
