When you think of Steve Jobs, you think about all the wonderful products that he created and being a great man in the world of innovation but his was not a great man by trade. The way Steve Jobs carried himself as visionary leader correlates with the core lesson principles of Change Management. Steve Jobs actions, decisions and behaviors (ADBs) contradicts that a proper ethical leader, as represented in the student guide lesson principles of Ethical Leadership, when dealing with his workers and his family. His ADBs explored the choosing of the wrong path versus the right. According to Isaacson (2011), who wrote his biography, stated that Steve Jobs was a tyrant, he abused his workers by berating them, took credit for someone’s ideas, and denied the paternity of his first daughter Lisa so that she and her mother had to live on welfare. But yet, he named his first computer Lisa. TNBCEE (2014a), defines values and morals as beliefs in what we regard or helps us define right from wrong in terms of our actions but Steve Jobs actions seems to display “Drive for Success” and “Ethical Relativism” which is an “Ethical Trap.” Steve ADBs have shown that he cares more about himself and his success than how he treats others which is the opposite of an ethical leader. I showed that by focusing on his ADBs and how it correlates with core lesson principles and providing two outside sources. As a visionary, he transformed his company and several industries to include music, animated movies, phone, and tablet computing. He personified the vision of American entrepreneurship and transformed the way we connect and communicate. Also, I showcased Steve Jobs ethical side. He was known for taking credit for other’s ideas in the company, he berated his workers, and he mistreated his family. Then I showed that by personal experiences on the visionary level was in the same thinking mindset as Steve Jobs. However, my ADBs prove to be ethical when his did not.
