On the personality assessment, I would need to develop thinking before acting skills. In order to do that I will need to plan ahead of tasks. I have to be accepting of the weaknesses in myself, and work extra hard, spending more time on my weaknesses. On the work turn on and offs assessment I have learnt to be free from bias, to acknowledge that I can’t let personal feelings overwhelm the facts.…

Growing up in one of the poorest regions of the United States has taught me two things; one, we are not defined by stereotypes, and two, hardships are made to be overcome. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Middlesboro, KY sits on the Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia border. The multicolored fall foliage and the vivid green mountains in the spring are disserved by the descriptor spectacular. My roots are firmly nestled in the Cumberland Gap where Daniel Boone started his journey to the West decades ago. I am proud to call myself an Appalachian-American.…

As I mentioned I am a reserved person that I select when I will allow myself to be the center of attention and be part of the spotlight. As a result, I have concluded that I am a very passive person where I tend to stay on the sidelines and observe what might be going on. I was shocked the type of profession would best suit me. All though I have chosen a very different profession.…

For most of the checklist, I have seen that my answers were closely related to the answers given to me on the responses. This shows that the view I have of myself is congruent with reality. This can be credited to the unconditional positive regard given to me by my parents, which allowed me to get a good view of myself while not having them bring me down for my flaws. Additionally, two responses, by family member and other, mentioned that they saw me having kids. This also goes along with what I said in my checklist.…

Of course no assessment test can be perfect, but this one was very close. It was a lot of fun to see my own gifts while comparing them to others. It sparked a lot of conversation and questions about what God may use my gifts and personality for in the future, or if my passions may change. All in all, this assessment was successful in showing me my own character traits, what my passions for ministry really are, some things to question and look into further, and finally that God has made us each unique to serve him in all different kinds of…
