Steroids first came onto the scene sometime around the 1930’s. Originally they were tested on dogs, and the progressively began to get tested on World War II soldiers. They also were used on war prisoners as an attempt to keep them healthy as they were suffering from being malnourished. Flash forward about twenty years, a great amount of European athletes realized that steroids were a vital tool when it came to reaching their athletic goals. This soon lead to a whole new wave of athletic records, considering these people using the drug were experiencing a strength that had previously been unheard of.
