Steroid use in sports
When it comes to the topic of steroids use in sport, most of us will readily agree that steroid use in sports is cheating. Where this agreement usually ends however is on the question of is using steroids in sports cheating. Whereas some are convinced that steroid use in sports is cheating, others maintain that steroid use in sports is not cheating. I believe that steroid use in sports is cheating because you are gaining an unfair advantage on your opponents. When you are on steroids your game becomes different you have all these new abilities at your arsenal to attack your opponent with.
The case can be made that some athletes need to use steroids to get through what some consider career altering injuries. People just assume that this is the best way to heal up from an injury, but what people don’t realize is that taking these steroids for a long period of time will effect you in the long run in multiple ways. It makes you stronger faster and increases your stamina. When a steroid user goes up against a non steroid user it is unfair because the non steroid user can only run for a limited amount of time and can not match the physicality of the steroids. That’s why when athletes use steroids they reach career highs and it is unhuman numbers that they reach so when the league finds out about it, it all starts to make sense why all some of these athletes are able to reach these career high numbers because of the use of steroids. Majority of the time when the league finds out about the use of steroid they will take back any of the awards you might have attained through out that season. Not only is it cheating the other players, but it is also cheating yourself health wise and you are risking a lot because you can become really fatally ill. There all multiple dieses you can catch but the most fatal is catching
