In fact, the media has created a stereotype in which female characters are constantly objectified and prejudiced. This is one of the reasons why Muslim women have decided to wear a hijab or a burqa, besides the fact that it shows respect for their God, Muslim women believe that wearing a hijab liberates them from society’s unrealistic fashion culture. The hijab frees women from being thought of as sexual objects of desire or from being valued for their looks, or body shape rather than their minds and intellect. In no way is the hijab a sign of male oppression, instead, it is a sign of freedom.
