Stereotyping In The Workplace

Stereotyping is something that involves many individuals, in any group situation. Stereotyping allows individuals to look at another person or group and describe them to be something that they might not actually represent but society has made them and their appearance to become. One of the biggest stereotypes in today's society is male vs. female. Some people believe that females aren't capable of doing hard tasks because they call in a man's job. In the past women were viewed as nothing other than a housewife, they were expected to make their husband happy at home because they were labeled as too feminine meaning that they only know how to take care of the house chores. This has created a biased stereotype between the two genders creating the image of males to be more assertive than a woman in the workforce. Although during the experiment led by Rice and Barth they share that these stereotypes are passed down throughout generations and it really all depends on the person themselves and how they choose to execute these stereotypes, some may bring them to light and some may not.Wanting these gender stereotypes to vanish is almost like wanting world peace, everyone wants it but no one knows how to enforce it or put into actions these changes because there are always someone who will concur and want the normal housewife approach to be put into effect, all that can be done is for woman to fight their way to get what they want and never stop fighting for what they
