No wonder parents are always restricting their children from the computer or cellphone. It is clear why guardians are limiting their children to any type of media. It is because the media does not care about the feelings of the people who view it. Magazines, television, websites, and advertisements all use the viewer’s self-esteem and pride against them. It sounds ridiculous that humans let simple models and beauty standards get to their heads. It sounds even more ridiculous that companies think it is okay and morally right to use people who are paid for their looks to promote certain products. For example, My Burberry perfume uses two famous models, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne to promote the fragrance (My Burberry. Hollywood Reporter 27 Nov. 2015: 162. Print.). In this specific advertisement, both models have the features that most people admire. Cara has the high cheeks bones and a face with definition, while Kate has full lips and eyes that are big and breathtaking. Why did the company not use girls with a round face and little lips? Did the company not think that girls with those certain features would help promote the perfume? Of course not. This is because for years companies have used men and women with a certain look in the business spotlight.
