I just wished people wouldn’t associate the hijab with perfection. Because that assumption is far from the truth. I remember a friend I had in high school before she got to know me a lot better. Said that before meeting me she assumed that any woman who wore the hijab didn’t have much of a life or personality that they just went to school or work and came home. That they never went to the movies, amusement parks, listened to music, went to the gym, went shopping or had any favorite tv shows. She told me “I didn’t think you had much of an identity I thought your hijab was your identity, don’t you have to be perfect to wear the hijab?” I told her no you don’t have to be perfect to wear the hijab because there is no such thing as a perfect person to begin
