Our actions should speak louder than what others think, therefore we need to take a step forward and let ourselves be heard. As a woman, I am aware of the difficulties women from past generations faced to get to where we are today. It’s important that the world sees how women have fought hard to become important in our society. Even though women in media are stereotyped as weak and not important, they have worked hard to be part of the headlines.

Women have become part of politics and are actually making changes. In the United States a woman is running for president, which 10 years ago was an impossible dream. Women have changed history by setting and achieving their goals, training hard before the Olympic Games and winning gold medals, and putting their ideas out there and building big empires by their own.
A perfect example of a woman changing young women’s point of view and becoming a role model is Ellen DeGeneres. She is a strong woman and a public figure who has even taught society to respect and accept homosexuality. She helps charities, such as “Best Friends Animal Society”, “Children’s Health Fund”, “Habitat for Humanity”, among others. Another example is Michelle Obama, who encourages Americans to prevent obesity with her project “Let’s Move”.
