Hollywood and how they portray teenagers have they got it right?
Teenagers are a very common age group used in movies but are they really showing us as we are or just as the stereotypes that society has put on us says we are I personally think that Hollywood is getting better at how they show teens with movies such as The edge of seventeen, paper towns and the perks of being a wallflower these movies break old stereotypes and are more how life really is

The perks of being a wallflower this movie is about a 15-year-old boy named Charlie who just starting high school and is struggling to deal with the death of his best friend and his aunt while also struggling with his own mental illness he starts off his time at high school trying not to stand out trying not to draw any attention to himself until he meets a group of seiners that embrace the fact that they are different and aren’t afraid of what other people think one night he accidently tells them about his friends death and they want to help him and be friends with him but they soon graduate high school he becomes suicidal slowly remembering everything that happened to him in his past he gets put in a mental faculty which his friends and family stick with him every day to help him get better and he does this movie covers a lot of issues that are very relevant such as mental illness in teenagers which is a very serious thing that is becoming more common this movie shows more the serious and emotional side of teenagers and that having good friends by your side can really change how teens
