Ever since my eigth grade year when I witnessed someone I look up to be inducted into the National Honor Society, I knew it was something I wanted to accomplish in my high school years. The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students and it is a great honor to be eligible for induction into this prestigious organization. As a very hardworking, dedicated, and reliable student, I possess the required qualities such as scholarship, leadership, service, and character, which make me eligible for this Chapter of…
National Honor Society is more than just a club students join in high school for fun; it’s an organization made up of young brilliant minds that want to make a change, not only in their community, but in their own lives. NHS provides many functions that can improve a student’s personal insight on how they should live their life, but they all lead to one main function and it’s to prepare us for the real world. National Honor Society not only helps with self-improvement, but it also helps students keep a symbolic promise that they want to take a lead and help people around them become aware of the problems surrounding their community, and they want to help by constantly giving back and volunteering. National Honor Society offers the mentality…
This inspires students to help others and can inspire a career for some students. If I get into National Honors Society, I plan to get involved…
I am honored to be considered to be a part of the National Honor Society. In order to be a part of the society, I understand that one must demonstrate excellent leadership qualities. I believe I have these qualities that can inspire my peers to make the right decisions. As a girl scout for 10 years, my troop and I have done many things to help our community such as helping out at soup kitchens and repainting the cafeteria at our elementary school. As a girl scout, one of the initiatives that I am most proud of has been helping young girls discover their inner beauty through our take action project called “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall”.…
Becoming a member of National Honors Society would not be just an honor, it would be a privilege and an opportunity to help better yourself and the community around you. Leadership is an important aspect in life. Student leaders are resourceful, good…
Every school across the United States places heavy expectations on their select group of honor students; therefore, I will research the ethnographic scene of honor students at Eaton High School. I would like to interview students who grew up taking the most challenging classes possible, such as well known names in our school like Elizabeth Leonard and Adam Richling. I would also like both interviewees to be from different ‘cliques’ in the school. There are various student athletes, music program members, and other students who participate in different activities, but they all hold the same work ethic and achieve top marks. As for artifacts, grades and test grades can be used as well as materials used in class that allow the honor students…
I knew before I applied to Liberty University that I wanted to be a part of the Honors Program. After attending a question and answer session regarding the program last year, the Honors Program seemed to be a place where I could challenge myself in my courses and make life-long friends along the way. The environment seemed warm and accepting, yet also competitive and encouraging. After learning about all the Honors Program has to offer, I know it will be a wonderful fit for me during my time at Liberty University. One of the greatest benefits I hope to gain from the Honors Program at Liberty University is an excellent education that aligns with my faith.…
As a student ready for the completion of my goals and academics, I desire to be apart of the National Honors Society. This society looks for four main qualities: character, leadership, scholarship, and service, and I can assure you that I possess all of these traits. I hope to prove to you throughout this paper that this is so. I am always ready to lead whoever I may need to. I have experience being a worship leader for my youth group, and I know the students in my youth group look up to me to lead them if they need it.…
Lauren Since about ninth grade, there was one thing that my best friend Sarah and I wanted from high school: to be in National Honor Society. Even in our freshman year, we knew what an honor it would be to be part of such an elite organization, and we wanted to be part of that. In our school, there is a requirement that you must be in at least two clubs (among other stricter requirements) to be considered for induction.…
Academic success, over achieving and perfect grades are common words associated with a “Nerd” or a student who is excelling in every area of school. Everyone knows a 4.0 student because they're in every class of every school in the United States. A 4.0 student is a title put over a person who really just cares about their education and wants to excel and be the best they can possibly be in their classes. A few misconceptions surrounding these students would be that all they do is study, study and study some more because their grades show it. Another stereotype that over generalizes a group of people who all they want to do is succeed would be that they don't have time to socialize or have time to do anything fun.…
The term honor in National Honor Society can be used to describe an individual that shows integrity, equality and respect through their actions. As a student of Beacon high school, I have made many efforts to model my daily actions around exemplifying the student of honor. Through demonstrations of leadership, character, and service, I have shown my qualification to be admitted into the National Honor Society. I exhibit good character to the community by helping to teach younger children during Sunday school at my church. For the past three months I have volunteered in the youth department teaching elementary students ethical lessons, actively shaping their morals.…
I feel honored to be considered for membership in Blacksburg High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society not only because of the immense personal growth that would result of my participation with the National Honor Society, but also of the impact I could make in the community alongside other NHS members. I feel that although I can make an impact in the community alone, my involvement would make an even greater impact in the world if I were to work together with other members of the prestigious organization. I think I would excel and make a difference in the world together with other students who are models of character, leadership, scholarship, and community service. If selected as a member of National Honor Society, I would like…
“Oh, he plays football? He must be a dumb jock.” Stereotypes are apart of our everyday life. Instead of paying attention to how unique someone is, stereotypes are used to flesh out the rest of a person's characteristics when they can only observe a small portion of them. Every person, young or old, is labelled with either positive or negative stereotypes.…
In order to keep up with this level of academic excellence, a great deal of support is needed and the Honors Program offers it all; everything about the Honors Program encourages academic excellence – the mentorship, small class size, and other perks. In fact, it applies the right kind of pressure. Being in good company is another draw for me in joining the Honors Program. The members are the best of the best. Such people inspire you to attain greater heights.…
As a student, I am constantly devoted towards perfecting my assignments as much as possible before turning them in. I believe that being a part of the Honors College will help me to further develop identity as student. In addition to driving towards academic excellence, I aim to continue to remain dedicated and passionate towards causes that hold special significance to me. Throughout my sophomore year, I helped to lead a team of volunteers in assisting the homeless community at Dupage…
