The fear of and prejudice against the religion of Islam is Islamophobia. In the United States, the media portray a negative picture of Muslims around the world. The term Islamophobia does not come from the terrorist attacks, it has been around since 1980. Islamophobia originated in the seventh century, when Islam spread into the European culture. This caused tension between Christians and Muslims and resulted in religious wars known as the crusades. There are four major types of islamophobia. Pre-reflective, which is discrimination based on their beliefs and values. Post-reflective, discrimination because one feels Islam is inferior in the Middle East. This is said to be the more than any enemy of the United States. In order for the United States to defend themselves they must become unethical and unreasonable. Meaning, singling out certain individuals by their religion. Politicians should be candid and ethical about racially profiling Muslims. Muslims are known for their unpleasant attitudes, and their dangerous demeanor, when dealing with them you should take all possible precautions. Innocent Muslim who are racially profiled for security purposes, can come to the conclusion that the harassment is for their own security, not just Americans. No absconding the certainty that high ranked Muslims in society, should be watch for terrorism. Visitors and immigrants of Islamic decent must complete additional background checks before entering the United States. Churches receive no observations by the government, unlike mosque who seem to require critical examination. Being Muslim in the United States is not a an easy task. Islam has been denied its freedom from Europeans for thousands of years now. Since September 11, 2001 Americans have killed over two million Muslims ranging from men to women, children to elderly. (PRS) Who should really be racially profiled for security purposes ? America has had more terrorist attacks from a person of European decent rather Islam decent. The media portray a heavy image that all Muslims are terrorist. They give the theory that all Muslim immigrants come to America to destroy it. The media do not show American soldiers killing innocent people. The media does not show the American Soldiers blowing up random towns. The American people are not seeing to rigid truth of our government and the people we have been protecting it. The war on terrorism is not a real war, its America is being a bully. The idea the media portrays is that Islamist has completely lost their minds, but in reality they are upset and tired.

“Modern-day Witch Hunts: Broadly targeting the Muslim Community is antithetical to America’s founding ideas” The general argument made by Jamie Dailey in “Modern-day Witch Hunts: Broadly targeting the Muslim Community is antithetical to America’s founding ideas” is that all Muslims are being besieged after the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. More specifically, Dailey reasons that the fears that Americans hold are irrational in that they cause a light to be shown on the entire Muslim community in response to the attacks of terrorism that occurred on September 11. Dailey mentions the “Ground Zero Mosque” which is very close to the site of the previous World Trade Center, “ the persecution of Muslim Americans takes many…

1,200 non-citizen Muslims were detained, arrested, and deported or released on bail based upon unsubstantiated tips from neighbors or coworkers and upon their religion, ethnicity and gender (Paul 1). However, none of these people were charged with any acts of terrorism after being held for 80 days. The detainees Were often not told what they were held for, did not have attorneys and could not communicate to their families. The practice of racial profiling picked up significantly after 9/11 with Muslims. Often after being pulled out of line for a “Random” Screening based upon ethnic appearance, Muslims had to leave the plane because the other passengers did not feel safe with a person they considered harmful based solely upon their appearance and names.(Paul 2).…

Ever since the attacks on 9/11, hate crimes have jumped by 21% (Villemez). Many angry Americans punished Muslims because of their religion, however, the Muslim religion does not teach any actions that relate to violence and injustice. The mistreatment of Muslims is only because Al-Qaeda claims to be Muslim. However, they are an Islamic based terrorist group, disobeying many rules and regulations of Islam. For example, Vanita Gupta, leader of the Justice Department’s Civil rights division, said, ““We saw it after 9/11, and we continue to see an uptick in allegations of hate-related incidents today following the tragic events over the past year,”(Villemez).…

Homes, businesses, mosques and Muslim schools have been vandalized, children tormented, and students harassed on college campuses. Outside of the regular hate crimes perpetrated by the people of the American public, the US government started racially profiling potential terrorists based on “Arab” features. (Hunt, 2014) This not only was a direct violation of the civil rights of the American people, but useless in identifying potential terrorists. (Hunt, 2014; Williams,…

“Citizen and the Terrorist”, written by Leti Volpp and “No Such thing as Racial Profiling”, authored by Jelani Cobb elaborated on the heated debate surrounding the mistreatment of minorities by government and law enforcement officials. Volpp centralizes her article on the dangers of classifying and targeting of minorities, where as, Cobb centers his argument of the effects of targeting. Notwithstanding some serious deliberation after reading these articles, it can be easily ascertained that there is no reason to scrutinize any individual based on what they wear, how they look, or what they believe. Governmental and law enforcement officials along with their unjustified treatment of minorities generate fear of being racially profiled and subjected…

So often In society you see other races being profiled for no reason besides how they look, this mostly applies for arabic people and people of arabic descent with profiling at an airport 42 times more likely than a white person. But the real problems are not the arabic people we profile but the white and other less likely ethnicities that pass through the airports not being profiled and blowing people up with the bombs they brought with them. Like the Oklahoma City Bomber, which was white and was standing between two arabic people which both got profiled, but, not him. Just like Abigail in the crucible when she would blame good upstanding women instead of telling everyone what she has done in the woods and getting down with John Proctor.…

Whether it’s Mohammed becoming the most popular baby name, or one in 10 babies in Australia being Muslim or the fact that halal meat is being served in Pizza Hut, a Muslim story always tends to generate more heat than light. Yet what most Australians fail to recognise is the fact that Islamophobia within Australian communities pose possibly a greater threat to humanity than Islam itself. Early this week, Islamic State insurgent group ISIS, circulated photos and a video purporting to show images and a video of Jordanian pilot Muath Al-Kasaesbeh, being burned alive in a cage. While the beheading of hostages from the US, Britain and Japan drew condemnation from most religious sects within Islam, the horrific images of the airman’s murder served as a unifying…

“Statically Islam is the second religion in France, but socially it is practiced by a group of people that is dominated, unprivileged and reduced to political silence.” Ever since the attacks on the French magazine Charlie Hebdo in January of 2015, France has deemed itself incompatible with immigrants, particularly those who identify as Muslim or come from North Africa or the Middle East. Since the start of 2015 there have been more than 11 large-scale attacks affiliated with ISIS, causing greater cultural rifts and xenophobia in French communities. The millions of Muslim French-born citizens and immigrants though have had to suffer because of these intolerances, making assimilation and integration particular difficult for everyone who is…

My job is informing him on the brief historical chronology leading to present day extremism, providing him with clear advice for how to differentiate between groups and their perspectives, supply him with points that he can use in a debate to refute some of the fear and hate-mongering statements made by others, as well as give him effective suggestions for how to confront Global Jihadism in ways including and beyond military. As his secondhand, I would allow Bernie to introduce the topic as such: “My fellow Americans -- tonight, I want to speak to you about what the United States will do with our friends and allies to degrade and combat the current…

There is no reason for the United States to return to internment camps and segregation with the progress for equality ongoing, but with the rise of terrorism and racial targeting, Muslims are scapegoats in a country that is constantly undergoing change. Islamophobia, or the fear of Islam, is not the reason to justify hate crimes against millions of people attempting to live their lives. Muslims do not have the opportunity to seek justice like the Civil Rights movement groups did as Muslims are already seen as a threat to US society and will be meet with strong resistance from all sides, even among their own people.
