They automatically knew which selection was theirs. This confused me because at such a young age children are being conformed into who society thinks they should be and they are not making their own decisions. Parents are consistently walking their children to their specific toys but the children have no say on what they want to play with. This aspect made me think about how different society and gender roles would be if all the toys were dressed in neutral colors, such as grey or white. Would that aspect change the view of what is socially acceptable in society, based on gender roles? I definitely think it would. If children did not know that pink was for girls and blue was for boys, I think they would go to any toy that sparked their interest and I think that would change society as a whole.
