I believe many people listen to politicians, clergy, or even celebrities based on emotions. People are always bashing on America’s mainstream media, or “fake news” but never really consider how fortunate we are. Sure, our mainstream media makes some mistakes and have biases towards some sort of political spectrum, but at least its factual. I watched a couple of Middle Eastern news channels such as those in the Gulf, Egypt in Yemen and it’s almost comical how these news station report their news. It’s rarely factual and has a lot to do with playing with people’s emotions. They like to show poor people or injured people and automatically blame it on the opposition. Most of these news channels have affiliated government or follow a certain religious institution and it’s obvious they try to persuade the general (usually uneducated) population to think a certain way by appealing to their emotions. It’s dangerous and cultivates hatred against others. It’s frustrating for people who actually critically think about
