In the dead of night, a blood-curdling cry for help could be heard from several blocks away; however, no one is around to hear. A woman runs frantically for her life. She runs this way and that but fails to realize that she is trapped in a maze of houses and alleyways . She yells for help, but like the last time, no one comes to rescue her. The realization hits her as she finds herself trapped between the wall and her killer. Terrified, she turns to face her end. Just as she does, a shot rings out through the chilly-night air. Morning dawns on this gruesome scene. Police get called in to assess what happened. Now as they comb through the scene, people start to gather around. They quietly whisper amongst themselves about what they think happened. Since this incident happened in the middle of the inner city, the bystanders automatically jump to the conclusion that an African American male is …show more content…
Take a profile of an abuser for instance. There are many characteristics that are used to identify one. This person will generally be charming. In public you see this person showering their spouse with affection and pushes for a marriage or engagement. The abuser gets very jealous viewing everyone as a threat. They will accuse their significant other of cheating while in reality, they are the one that is cheating. This person is very intelligent and very manipulative. They quickly pinpoint the other’s weakness and uses it against them. The abuser is controlling and also plays the “poor me I am a victim” card. They blame others for their shortcomings. This person is a narcissist thinking the whole world revolves around them. This person is inconsistent, especially with mood swings. One minute they can be friendly and the next they are raging. They are always critical and disconnected as well as hypersensitive. The last few traits are that the abuser is vicious, cruel and is sincerely
