The process of life is like growing layers, you aren’t just the age on the outside, you’re all the other ages below the layer shown. This can be seen in the story ‘Eleven’ by Sandra Cisneros. In this story, the main character realizes that by growing up, you don’t lose your other years, you just gain another. She realizes this when she has a horrible day in school and even though it’s her birthday and she is eleven now, she has moments throughout the day where she feels a lot younger, “I’m feeling sick inside, like the part of me that’s three wants to come out of my eyes,(page 2)”. This quote displays that even though we’re older, we still have part of us that’s younger.…

Some are parents themselves, though with varying degrees of responsibility for their children” (Luke Bergmann, 2008, from now on this source will be referred to by page number, (154)).…

Often times, maturity is known to be heavily dependent with that of one’s age. However, this common belief is not necessarily true. Dustine I’m pretty sure you are not alone in this. Many of our judgements involve classifying and categorizing individual persons or things. For example, if somebody tell me that a man is shy, quiet , reserve, and self-effacing and then asked me to guess whether is a salesman or a heart surgeon, I would probably choose brain surgeon because their stereotype of a salesman is more an outgoing and active person. But in reality the odds of any given man being a salesman are much higher than the odds of being a brain surgeon, so the probability is that he is a…
