Stereotypes vs. abortion: Who’s the real murderer?
Stereotypes, labels, and stigmas have been around since the beginning of civilization. To be more specific, they were formed ever since enough people started believing that being different was reason enough to marginalize and even hate others. One of the major stigmas that prevails in the contemporary world is the one on women who get abortions. The stigma on those who have an abortion rises from the belief that removing an unborn fetus from a woman’s womb, due to any reason, is murder, immoral, or even sinful. Also, it is believed that the people having them are irresponsible humans reproducing unwisely and carelessly (such as teens) and that they are selfish. It is these beliefs that give

Chose to have it and give it up for adoption. There are tons of people who long to conceive a child but are unsuccessful in doing so. Don't be selfish”. Adoption is a wonderful thing indeed. It gives people an opportunity to become parents because they actually want to and they choose to. The problem though, is that there isn't enough of those people to go around for all the children who reside in adoption centers or foster care. As stated by the Adoption Exchange Association, “there are currently 400,000 children in foster care in the United States. Out of the 400,000 children in foster care, more than 100,000 of them are available to be adopted”. Those children there, waiting to be adopted, waiting for years and sometimes their whole childhood to have a permanent home grow to know that they weren't wanted by their biological parents or that they were abandoned for a reason or another. They grow without knowing the loving of a parent. All those innocent children suffer. And as harsh as it sounds, they're suffering could've been prevented if they hadn't been born. Innocent children do not deserve to be born out of a forced pregnancy, out of rape, out of fear of getting an abortion. They are suppose to be born out of love. They do not deserve the suffering that follows them when they are born out of all of that. These women aren't being selfish by not having these children. Most are being selfish by having them, as they do not think of how their child will grow up under their parenting and only think about themselves when they choose to have them (Marcotte, 3). It's an endless debate, and it's an ironic one since it shouldn't even be one in the first

As stated before there is a plethora of people who would adopt. But that isn’t my only argument, if you are willing to lay down and have sexual intercourse with whomever and not use a contraceptive how does that become the unborn child’s fault? It isn’t, if you are not prepared for a child, then do not lay down and do the work that brings a child into this world, especially if you chose not to use any sorts of protection; which I might point out there are plenty choices for…

If all women who did not want to have offspring put their child up for adoption, this difference would be even bigger. This causes more children to go without families, which could have detrimental effects on a child’s life. These include health risks, homelessness or bad housing, and involvement in the criminal justice system (“The AFCARS Report” 6). It is not morally right to force a person to live under such circumstances. If the woman is forced to go through with the pregnancy, it could cause the child to have a worse life.…

A statistic from Child Trends says, “Approximately 1 million teenagers in America become pregnant each year. Of those, 78% are unintended. Teens may choose to have an abortion because they have concerns about how having a baby would derail important personal goals; they worry about the financial responsibilities associated with parenthood; or they feel that they are not mature enough to become a parent” (Teen Abortions, 2014) Many couples or single women are put in situations which can cause unwanted pregnancy and are unable to take care of the child. Instead of putting themselves and the child in struggles, it is better if they can give the child to another family to be taken care of.…

A hopeless girl who has no knowledge of the world and lived in innocence stumbles across a somber road of destruction in which she suffers harsh social stigma on her personal business of casting out a burden which would ultimately may have lead to a poor life quality on the infant’s part; she had just gotten an abortion. A very touchy subject in which society has created a large stigma (characterized as disgraceful) towards females because they had chosen to have an abortion. Abortion is a personal and individual decision a mother may have to choose, for a variety of reasons. The main controversy is, whether or not females undergo psychological changes when she has an abortion. Does a woman who chooses to have an abortion in result of a rape…

There has been a long existing debate of “Pro-Life” versus “Pro-Choice” about whether or not women should be able to abort a child. Many people being Pro-Choice will use the argument that the fetus isn 't a living person, and rather that it is the woman’s body; therefore the woman’s choice. There are other options women have such as adoption: waiting until the baby is born and providing the child a well-suited family to properly care for them. I believe any way you can avoid aborting a child is better than abortion because you give the child a chance for life. An unborn child in the womb contains all of the characteristics for it to be considered living, proving abortion is morally and scientifically wrong.…

For some, it is a symbol with a negative connotation that represents ending lives through abortion, while others see it as a positive assistance resource allowing women to be autonomous over their reproductive lives. No clear solution exists for this issue because people are so divided on the topic. There is no way to please everyone regarding this complex, controversial issue. Although abortion is legal in the whole United States, there still have a groups of people want to make change to this because they think abortion is an immoral killer. On the other hand, rather saying an abortion is an immoral killer, some people might think abortion is a relief toward the mother and the fetus. In fact, no one is qualified enough to make comments on a female or teen who make such a decision because they would never know how they feel when they are in the procedure. Perhaps, some people may ask, if you do feel sad about this choice, why are you still doing this. Rich and Wagner (2016) argue state that in a 2004 survey on women who had abortions, 92% reported they had the procedure because of social reasons rather than medical reasons or sexual assault. The primary social reasons provided were “the timing being wrong for having a child, not being able to afford a baby, having relationship problems with the father, or not feeling mature enough to raise a child” (Rich and Wagner, 2016). Furthermore, abortion is used to escape responsibility and the consequences of a mistake. An unborn child should not be punished for the parent’s failure to realize the risk of pregnancy during sexual activity.…
