Stereotypes Of A Hispanic Person

Decent Essays
I am a Hispanic young women. I don’t know how to cook, I am not crazy, I don’t overreact in situations, I am independent, I do not like bright colored clothing. My skin is white, my hair is light, my personality is considered to be “white,” I’m still wondering what “white” means. Please stop stereotyping ethnic groups. Just because someone looks and act a certain way doesn’t mean they belong to certain group. People are themselves and should not be categorized for doing so. As a young Hispanic woman I feel offended when I hear all these crazy stereotypes about us because I am an example that demonstrates that such things are not true.
Please stop labeling people. Each and one of us deserve to be heard and deserve to be taken serious. Stop diminishing

While media’s main purpose is to merely inform the public, it often ends up affecting public opinion. This is the case with immigration and religion. When religious immigrants are portrayed in media as a certain way, society often creates prejudices and stereotypes. Wilber ignored these comments knowing that El-Salvador was much more than a “gang turf”.…
